About X-Floc

Core competences

The firm X-Floc concentrates on the development, manufacture and selling of insulation technology machines and accessories. The emphasis falls on mobile and stationary machines and systems for the pneumatic processing of loose insulation material from renewable raw materials. The business was founded in 1994 as a common law company. In 1997 it was converted into a company with limited liablity. About ten employees with two trainees and the managing director Dipl.Ing. Axel Greiner are responsible for the following tasks:

- Development and further refinement of blow-in machines and systems as well as accessories for the insulation of building sections;
- Development of systems and machines for the pneumatic processing of fibre material for the filling of tool forms in the automobile supply sector;
- Electrical and mechanical assembly;
- Sales in more than 25 countries inside and outside Europe.

History and future

The X-Floc Dämmtechnik-Maschinen GbR was established by Friedhelm Wagener and Dipl.-Ing. Axel Greiner in 1994. Picture 1: Axel Greiner (left) and Friedhelm Wagener (right) with prototype.

However, at this point the most interesting part of the company history had already been written. Months earlier chance brought the two founders - who were both working as design engineers at the time - together around the theme loose insulation material processing, when the rebuilding of the private house of Friedhelm Wagener revealed clear shortcomings in the existing technology. At the end of their working days in the design engineer offices the two entrepreneurs worked into the night on a prototype of the Zellofant M95. Specialist carpenters with relevant practical experience were involved in the development of this insulation technology from the outset. The prototype was enthusiastically received by all carpenters who saw the machine and so the business X-Floc came into being.

By 1997 X-Floc had worked itself into such a strong position in the European market, that re-registration as a GmbH, a company with limited liability, became imperative.To a large extent this market acceptance was a result of the consistent focus of the X-Floc engineers on keeping the control of the machine flexible. Simulations with the most modern computer systems, complete EDV organisation and naturally, CAD design, resulted in high flexibility and results-orientated operation from the outset.

In the following years the Zellofant M95 established itself in the market as the embodiment of mobile processing of loose insulation material. Feedback from the practice was incorporated in the machine and so the product grew steadily better.

The demand for even more powerful machines was first satisfied in 1997 with the introduction of the TwinPack, which consists of two switchable Zellofants on a single machine, and then with the development of the TwinStar M98 in 1998.

In 1998 Friedhelm Wagener withdrew from the business to give his full attention to a number of new environmental technology projects.

Development of the Minifant M99, a simple, robust and compact machine, started in 1999. Since 2000 this machine has been delivered to 22 countries.

From the outset the accessories programme has been one of the strong points of X-Floc. We believe an insulation system is only complete when it affords chances of meaningful expansion for special applications. And so a comprehensive range of spraying accessories was developed, including nozzles, hoses, connectors and, naturally, a radio remote control which can be used with all X-Floc machines.

For years now we are the leading company in the market of mobile and stationary blow-in technology for loose insulation material. Especially the Zellofant, but also the younger products such as the Minifant M99 and Turbofant M03, have fought themselves into excellent positions in the market.

At X-Floc we do not follow the technology trends, but select our own goals. From the outset we were kitted out with the most modern testing equipment and computer support in the design division. The top quality products which resulted, were almost obligatory! We believe good products should be complimented with a complete set of accessories. Blowing in loose insulation material can be done under the most diverse circumstances, which require equipment to be fully adaptable. Therefore we offer a large range of nozzles, hoses, clamping systems, material switch plates and a comprehensive spraying programme.
